La obra escrita durante el periodo argentino de María Teresa León forma parte del corpus literario del exilio republicano con rasgos en común a éste como el fondo de melancolía o las evocaciones poéticas alrededor de las nociones de olvido y memoria. Llama la atención, sin embargo, la insistencia de la escritora burgalesa en las rutas exílicas de sus personajes. Más allá del recuerdo del lugar de origen o del destino final del viaje, el itinerario en sí mismo cobra un papel central en sus figuraciones literarias que conectan los desplazamientos geográficos con aquellos imaginados. Destaca en este sentido la inclusión de la perspectiva femenina, como en la novela Doña Jimena Díaz de Vivar, gran señora de todos los deberes (1960) o en la recopilación de relatos Las peregrinaciones de Teresa (1950), obras que retratan el papel de las mujeres exiliadas en las sociedades de acogida, así como su interacción con sus circunstancias itinerantes. Con la finalidad de profundizar en la temática del viaje exílico en clave femenina, el siguiente estudio ofrece una reflexión a propósito de estos dos textos de León escritos en Argentina con especial interés en las voces de las mujeres exiliadas. La perspectiva que guiará la discusión será la interrelación de los personajes femeninos con las rutas exílicas bajo la hipótesis de que la puesta en duda de la capacidad de acción de las mujeres en el exilio desemboca en la proyección de un espacio literario autónomo abierto a la creación de caminos alternativos.
