RESUMO:A preocupação com o aumento dos desastres naturais de origem hidrológica tem crescido no mundo, levando à aprovação da Estratégia Internacional para a Redução de Desastres -EIRD pela Assembléia Geral da Organização das Nações Unidas, em dezembro de 1999. Esta estratégia está consolidada no Quadro Palavras-chaves: Hyogo; cidades resilientes; inundações; segurança hídrica.
ABSTRACT:The concern about the increase of natural disasters with hydrological origin has grown worldwide, leading to the approval of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction -ISDR by the United Nations General Assembly in December 1999. This strategy is consolidated in the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015 (HFA): building the resilience of nations and communities to disasters.
