Hay en la actualidad un interés creciente por conocer las formas en que los adolescentes afrontan situaciones de ciberacoso cuando se ven inmersos en ellas como testigos u observadores. Debido a ello, ha surgido la necesidad de contar con instrumentos válidos y confiables que permitan investigar este fenómeno con las garantías psicométricas adecuadas. En ese marco, el presente estudio tuvo como objetivo principal generar nueva información relevante acerca de la validez del Inventario de Estrategias de Afrontamiento del Ciberacoso desde la perspectiva del Observador (IEAC-O), empleando para ello el análisis factorial confirmatorio (AFC). El IEAC-O está diseñado para medir el grado en que estudiantes adolescentes se inclinan a utilizar seis tipos de estrategias para responder ante situaciones de ciberacoso en las cuales se ven involucrados como espectadores: denunciar, agredir, ignorar y desviar la preocupación, guardar pruebas y buscar apoyo, desconectarse, y evitar a los agresores. La muestra se conformó por 997 adolescentes, estudiantes de secundaria y bachillerato, con edades de 12 a 19 años. Los resultados mostraron cargas factoriales, coeficientes de determinación e índices de bondad de ajuste adecuados. Se encontraron también índices apropiados de confiabilidad y diferencias estadísticamente significativas por sexo. Se discuten estos y otros resultados en el contexto de la literatura sobre estrategias de afrontamiento del ciberacoso en la adolescencia. Se concluye señalando que los hallazgos encontrados aportan datos a favor de la validez y confiabilidad del IEAC-O para medir estrategias de afrontamiento del ciberacoso en población adolescente mexicana escolarizada de secundaria y bachillerato, indicando su utilidad para nuevos proyectos de investigación y prevención.
El objetivo general del presente estudio fue comparar las respuestas de los estudiantes de una secundaria pública y una privada con respecto a cómo afrontarían situaciones de ciberbullying, tanto en el papel de víctimas como de testigos, para entender las respuestas de los adolescentes ante tales experiencias y aportar insumos para futuros programas de intervención que fortalezcan sus capacidades para afrontarlo eficazmente. Participaron 251 estudiantes entre 12 y 15 años, de secundarias pública y privada de la Zona Metropolitana de Guadalajara, Jalisco, durante 2019 y 2020, antes de la pandemia por Covid-19. Respondieron el Inventario de Estrategias de Afrontamiento del Cyberbullying desde la perspectiva de la Víctima (IEAC-V) y el Inventario de Estrategias de Afrontamiento del Cyberbullying desde la Perspectiva del Observador (IEAC-O). En los resultados, desde la víctima, la escuela pública presentó puntuaciones elevadas en las estrategias agresivas, y en ignorar y desviar la preocupación; la escuela privada mostró puntuaciones altas en buscar apoyo, reunir pruebas y evitar al agresor. Desde el observador, la escuela pública presentó puntuaciones altas en la estrategia de ignorar y desviar la preocupación y en estrategias agresivas. Por su parte, la escuela privada presentó puntuaciones elevadas en la estrategia de reunir pruebas y buscar apoyo. Estos resultados se discuten considerando la literatura sobre ciberbullying en adolescentes.
