INTRODUCCIÓNEl proceso de dominación del estado inka sobre los territorios conquistados no fue homogéneo sino que dependió, en gran medida, de las características propias de las poblaciones dominadas. Como consecuencia, el Estado empleó diferentes estrategias en cada caso, aunque existieron modos reiterativos a lo largo del vasto territorio imperial. Ciertas políticas y prácticas, junto con el uso de determinadas materialidades como la arquitectura, los tejidos y la cerámica, fueron comunes en la mayoría de los territorios conquistados y esenciales para la articulación de las nuevas relaciones sociales y la dominación, aunque cada escenario social conlleva sus particularidades.La quebrada de Humahuaca (Provincia de Jujuy, noroeste de Argentina) ( fig. 1) fue incorporada al Estado inkaico en la primera mitad del siglo xv. Las políticas estatales instauradas incluyen la intensificación de las actividades agrícolas junto con la instalación de la red vial y una serie de asentamientos necesarios para cumplir con las actividades del Estado. Asimismo, como parte de las estrategias de integración y dominación, se produce la incorporación de cerámica inkas proveniente de otras regiones del Imperio, así como la producción de vasijas que combinaban formas y motivos decorativos locales con aquellos introducidos por los inkas.

PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION OF CERAMIC VESSELS AT QUEBRADA DE HUMAHUACA (JUJUY PROVINCE, ARGENTINA) DURING THE INKA PERIOD (1430-1536 AD)María andrea runcio* La quebrada de Humahuaca (Provincia de Jujuy, Argentina) fue incorporada al estado inkaico en la primera mitad del siglo xv. A partir del nuevo contexto sociopolítico instaurado por el Tawantinsuyu en la región, se procurará evaluar el impacto estatal sobre la producción y el consumo de la cerámica local y de la cerámica inka presente en la quebrada, que incluye vasijas de Estilo Inka, de estilos distribuidos por el Estado y vasijas que combinan pautas morfológicas y decorativas locales con aquellas introducidas por los inkas.
El trabajo presenta la metodología desarrollada para el relevamiento de la decoración de un conjunto de vasijas provenientes de la Quebrada de Humahuaca (Provincia de Jujuy, Argentina) en base al análisis de variables independientes y su posterior correlación que permitió dar cuenta de la variabilidad inherente en todo conjunto cerámico.
La economía inka puede caracterizarse como una economía de movilización, en la cual los bienes fueron canalizados hacia el Estado para financiar la estructura política y expansión del mismo. La producción de vasijas cerámicas en el Estado inka forma parte de esta compleja organización económica desarrollada para financiar las actividades estatales. Considerando la importancia que tuvo la tecnología cerámica para el Estado en el proceso de dominación ejercido en las provincias, este trabajo analizará la influencia estatal sobre el proceso de producción y uso de vasijas inka en el sitio La Huerta (Quebrada de Humahuaca, provincia de Jujuy, Argentina)
El trabajo presenta algunas reflexiones en relación al espacio doméstico y la dicotomía espacio pú- blico/doméstico a partir del análisis de las evidencias recuperadas en el recinto 353 ubicado en el sector incaico del sitio La Huerta (Quebrada de Humahuaca, provincia de Jujuy, Argentina).
