A ansiedade é a segunda maior causa de transtornos psíquicos entre os estudantes, o que pode prejudicar o desempenho acadêmico e interesse em fazer tarefas, ou ainda, diminuir o entusiasmo com o curso. Portanto, objetivou-se analisar, por meio de uma revisão de literatura, a prática da acupuntura no controle de transtornos de ansiedade em estudantes, quando comparada a nenhum tratamento. Foi realizada uma revisão sistemática de literatura nas bases de dados Portal Capes (n=1), Medical Publisher (Pubmed) (n=1), Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) (n=1) e Science Direct (n=2). Foram utilizados os Descritores em Ciências da Saúde (DeCS): "Acupuncture" AND "Anxiety" AND "Students". A qualidade metodológica dos cinco artigos utilizados foi avaliada pelo sistema GRADE. Os tipos de intervenções utilizadas foram a acupuntura auricular (n=2; 40%), a acupuntura simples em determinados pontos (n=2; 40%) e a acupuntura de couro cabeludo (20%). Verificou- se eficácia dos métodos de acupuntura usados na redução da ansiedade em 80% dos estudantes avaliados. Concluiu-se que estratégias terapêuticas de acupuntura auricular, acupuntura simples e acupuntura em couro cabeludo podem sim ser eficazes na redução significativa da ansiedade e dos seus sintomas em estudantes, principalmente antes dos exames avaliativos. Quanto aos efeitos adversos registrados, eles não foram considerados de alta gravidade quando comparados aos benefícios.
