Toric ICL implantation was better than wavefront-guided LASIK in eyes with high myopic astigmatism in almost all measures of safety, efficacy, predictability, and stability, suggesting that toric ICL implantation may become a viable surgical option to treat high myopic astigmatism.
In myopic eyes, FLEx induces significantly fewer ocular fourth-order aberrations than wfg-LASIK, possibly because it causes less oblation in the corneal shape, but there was no statistically significant difference in visual acuity or in the induction of third-order aberrations and total HOAs. It is suggested that FLEx is essentially equivalent to wfg-LASIK in terms of visual acuity and total HOA induction, although the characteristics of HOA induction are different.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
