A toxoplasmosis is a worldwide zoonosis caused by the protozoan Toxoplasma gondii. The greatest relevance of toxoplasmosis occurs when an infection develops in the gestational period, as vertical transmission may occur. The aim was to analyze the seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis in 1,007 blood samples and risk factors associated with seropositivity in the city of Goiânia and metropolitan region. We collected peripheral blood samples from 1.007 pregnant women at metropolitan area of Goiânia, from 2014 to 2016. All pregnant women who agreed to participate, signed the informed consent form and answered the socioeconomic questionnaire.
