The meteorological factors study in the beetle population dynamics, as well as its association with vegetation, is of fundamental importance for understanding the variation that occurs in its population. Thus, it was reported the influence of temperature, humidity, insolation and precipitation on the beetles in general and it was presented a case study that examined the relationship between time and population fluctuation of curculionids in Mata de Cocal and an area used for crop rotation and animal grazing, in the city of Teresina, Brazil, from August 2011 to July 2012. It was verified that beetles populations certain are governed and conditioned by meteorological variables to a greater or lesser extent depending on the characteristics of the community itself and the biotic and abiotic environmental factors of the area where they live: the temperature that changes the its metabolic rate, the insolation and humidity that can affect its fertility and longevity can be cited as examples. From the case presented, It was found that the Curculionidae community has a positive association with precipitation and humidity and a negative association with insolation and temperature, being that in native forests curculionids are not as dependent on meteorological variables as in agricultural fields.
Considering that ecotonal regions have different geoenvironmental behavior and given the importance of determining the most favorable period for burning –as it allows preventive actions by Organs responsible bodies –, this study aimed to characterize the dynamics of the relationship between fires and rainfall from 2002 to 2020 in the Teresina municipality, capital of the Piauí state. Thus, being in an area dependent on the seasonality of the rainfall regime, Teresina has the months from July to December –second semester –as the most critical in fire occurrences, as they are the driest months of the year and the vegetation is more susceptible to the occurrence of this event. Thus, in this period of the year (especially in September and October) its occurrence is much higher compared to other months. It is also of fundamental importance to monitor droughts to minimize their impact on the occurrence of fire outbreaks, given their association with drier years
Study the meteorological factors is important to understand Neoathyreus sp population dynamics. So this study examined the relationship between meteorological conditions and the Neoathyreus sp population fluctuation in Cocal Mata in Teresina-PI city, Brazil, from August 2011 to July 2012. Neoathyreus sp were collected weekly in 12 pitfall traps unattractive. During the period analyzed only in the months of February to April of 2012 was registered the presence of this species. There was a significant and negative association between the registration of the population fluctuation to the insolation (r=-0.61; p-value< 0.05) and the average temperature of the compensated air (r=-0.55; p-value< 0.10) and positive to the pluviometric precipitation (r=0.69; p-value< 0.05). Thus it was evidenced that there is species seasonality associated with Cocal Mata.
