A primeira e a segunda pipetagens foram feitas com a p¡peta mergulhada 20cm na dispersão, enquanto as três últimas foram realizadas a 1Ocm, para reduzir o tempo total de ensaio (2h e 30min para temperatura ambiente de 21"C).Recolheu-se a pr¡meira alíquota pipetada no primeiro béquer numerado e assim por diante. Os béqueres, com âs respectivas alíquotas de pipetagem, foram colocados na estufa a 60oC até que a água da dispersäo evaporasse completamente, deixando apenas a amostra seca.Concluída a secagem, as alíquotas devem foram resfriadas dentro de um dessecador de vidro. Pesaram-se novamente os béqueres de 50ml (agora com a amostra), anotando-se seus respectivos pesos na ficha de controle do ensaio, A amostra restante na proveta foi submetida à elutriação, lsto é, uma lavagem para eliminação de finos (<62pm). Este processo foi feito em um elutriador de funis utilizandose água corrente em fluxo ascendente. Ao final da elutriação, a areia lavada foi filtrada a vácuo.A areia foi então seca em estufa e depois peneirada com o auxílio de um vibrador de peneiras. Cada faixa granulométr¡ca foi pesada e armazenada em um saqu¡nho de papel.Os dados obtidos (pesos dos recipientes vazios e com amostras pipetadas, após a seçagem, e peso de amostra em cada faixa grânulométrica de peneiramento) foram anal¡sados em seus parâmetros estatísticos (diåmetro médio, desvio padräo, assimetria e curtose) no Laboratório de Sed¡mentologia do lGc-USP. Levantamento TopográficoFoi contratado um topógrafo paß a realização da topografia detalhada da área (Anexo I -Figura A1-1). Neste levantamento foi feita a localizaçäo dos poços e de l8 árvores. Para cada poço fo¡ determinada uma cota altimétr¡ca, em relação a um poço bqse, além da altimetria das árvores (AR no Anexo 1 -Figura A1-1) e do terreno a cada 2m a partir do centro dos poços nas quatro direções perpendiculares (pn no Anexo 1 -Figura A1-'1).Através da determinação das cotas topográficas dos poços foi possivel calcular as cargas hidráulicas a partir dos niveis d'água medidos com um medidor elétrico, bem como restituir a topografia da ârea. (LERNER, 1990, SCANLON et. al.,2OO2).
A quantificação da recarga de um aqüífero é um elemento chave para definir a sua exploração sustentável e para melhor compreender o modelo conceitual de circulação das águas subterrâneas. Tem-se verificado que a rápida recarga em aqüíferos livres e rasos (nível d'água < 3 m) causa mudanças importantes no fluxo advectivo e nos movimentos de dispersão de plumas contaminantes. Uma porção de um aqüífero livre e raso, na Bacia Sedimentar de São Paulo, localizada no Parque Ecológico do Tietê, Município de São Paulo, foi selecionada para este estudo. Nessa área, de aproximadamente 2500 m 2 , foram instalados 67 poços com 3 m de profundidade para observar a influência da infiltração sobre as cargas hidráulicas. A quantificação da infiltração eficaz, responsável pela recarga, foi também realizada através de seis infiltrômetros. Notou-se que durante a estação chuvosa (dezembro a março) as precipitações de um dia antes das medidas de níveis d'água são as que mais influem na carga hidráulica, apesar de grupos específicos de poços apresentarem relações distintas com a precipitação e carga hidráulica por influência das árvores (interceptação e evapo-transpiração). A recarga potencial é de 46% das precipitações que ocorrem na área e 60% desta recarga potencial se constitui na recarga real ou efetiva.
