Resumo Este artigo analisa cinco feiras livres que abastecem uma parte substancial da população urbana do Alto Jequitinhonha na contramão do sistema agroalimentar dominante. Usando dados de fontes primárias e secundárias, são analisadas as relações estabelecidas entre consumidores e vendedores – os quais, em sua maioria, são agricultores – para interpretar as dimensões culturais e econômicas do abastecimento das pequenas cidades. O resultado da pesquisa indica que as feiras se relacionam com a identidade cultural alimentar, o abastecimento de grande parte da população urbana e movimenta parte expressiva da economia local dos municípios.
O presente estudo objetiva analisar a literatura relacionada à sustentabilidade na agricultura familiar e a aplicação em políticas públicas brasileiras. Para isso, foi realizada uma análise de artigos relacionados ao tema, destacando-se os principais tópicos, além de dados secundários do Governo Federal. Por meio das informações coletadas, observou-se a existência de políticas públicas voltadas para a alimentação (escolar e da população) e comercialização, evidenciando-se canais institucionais para o escoamento dos alimentos produzidos por estes. A sustentabilidade nesses sistemas produtivos também denota ser uma característica diferenciadora, considerando os impactos positivos ao ambiente, pelo reaproveitamento de resíduos visando à fertilidade do solo e as possibilidades criadas em termos de geração de renda para as famílias agricultoras.
Com o avanço da tecnologia da informação e o advento das geotecnologias, quanto maior o número de informações globais, regionais e locais, maior é a possibilidade de sucesso do planejamento. o presente artigo teve como objetivo sobrepor informações dos imóveis rurais, áreas de vegetação preservada e nascentes em áreas da agricultura familiar e não familiar, na região das chapadas e grotas do Alto Jequitinhonha, utilizando como banco de dados as informações disponibilizadas pelo SICAR (Sistema Nacional de Cadastro Ambiental Rural), IBGE (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatistica e informações topográficas fornecidas pelo SRTM. Para o processamento das informações foi utilizado software de geoprocessamento ArcGis 10.3. A sobreposição das informações se deu a partir das ferramentas do próprio software. Foi possivel que a região do Alto Jequitinhonha é uma região de agricultura familiar tradicional e numerosa, onde o relevo formado por chapadas e grotas determinou os diferentes processos de ocupação e uso dos solos na região. A chegada de grandes empreendimentos, principalmente o reflorestamento com eucalipto, alterou drasticamente a dinâmica da região, a partir dos dados do CAR foi possível observar as mudanças no uso e posse da terra, recursos hídricos e vegetação nativa.

O presente estudo analisa o modelo de desenvolvimento proposto para a região do Vale do Jequitinhonha, localizado na porção noroeste de Minas Gerais. Foram avaliados, por meio da análise de narrativas de políticas públicas, documentos institucionais históricos efetivados durante o período da ditadura militar, atentando-se aos preceitos que legitimaram a ação estatal, principalmente, pelo incentivo à produção de eucaliptais, que culminaram com a criação do Distrito Florestal. Por meio das narrativas, observou-se que a doutrina vigente na época viabilizou o modelo desenvolvimentista baseado na produção monocultora, por meio de políticas de subsídios. Definidos os problemas e as soluções a serem atingidas, o que se observou é uma dicotomia ao se cruzar com as narrativas dos agricultores que ocupavam os espaços destinados ás políticas, o que permitem ponderar modelos de desenvolvimento sob o ponto de vista institucional e aqueles na visão do beneficiário.
