O planejamento em gestão tem sido uma importante ferramenta no campo da saúde, a fim de promover a inserção de atividades voltadas para o atendimento à sociedade, bem como na busca por minimizar os desafios em atender toda a demanda de pessoas que utilizam dos serviços de saúde na atualidade. Dessa forma, a presente pesquisa possui como objetivo geral compreender a importância do planejamento em gestão na minimização dos desafios e contribuição na prática em saúde. Nessa concepção, a metodologia utilizada correspondeu ao método de revisão integrativa, a fim de promover reflexão sobre o estado da arte, respeitando as ideias e relações dos autores. Mediante a isso, os resultados apontaram o quanto o planejamento em gestão apresenta as etapas de definição de políticas; analisa a situação de saúde; constrói módulos operacionais bem como as análises de viabilidade, e possibilita uma relação de minimizar os desafios existentes na área de saúde, pensando também nas metas a serem alcançadas em médio a longo prazo. Os autores também destacaram sobre o quanto as estratégias e ações inseridas no planejamento em gestão, agrega valor na equipe multiprofissional, buscando direcionar em quais pontos devem ser melhorados e como alcançar as metas estipuladas. A pesquisa concluiu acerca da importância do planejamento em gestão contribuir na minimização dos desafios e práticas em saúde, devido fornecer o subsídio necessário aos profissionais, trabalhando em equipe com o viés da gestão em saúde compreender quais metas devem ser alcançadas e como os profissionais devem criar estratégias para alcançar seus objetivos.
