Neste texto, compartilho algumas reflexões sobre o meu trabalho com o ensino crítico de línguas estrangeiras/inglês no Centro de Línguas da Universidade Federal de Goiás. Teoricamente fundamentado nos pressupostos da Pedagogia Crítica (FREIRE, 2006), dos Estudos Culturais (SILVA, 2007), da Teoria Racial Crítica (FERREIRA, 2006), dos Estudos/Pedagogias Feministas (LOURO, 1997) e da Linguística Aplicada Crítica (PENNYCOOK, 1998, 2001), procuro relacionar o construto pedagogia como transgressão (HOOKS, 1994; PENNYCOOK, 2006) ao ensino de línguas estrangeiras/inglês. Os dados apresentados mostram que o ensino crítico desencadeia muitos conflitos na sala de aula de língua inglesa, mas também evidenciam a sua relevância para o desenvolvimento crítico, linguístico e comunicativo dos(as) alunos(as) e para a formação crítica de professores(as).
Resumo: Em 2014, a primeira autora deste artigo ministrou uma disciplina de Prática Oral 2 de Inglês no curso de Letras da Universidade Federal de Goiás, fundamentada na Linguística Aplicada Crítica. O curso focalizou os temas "raça" e "língua", objetivando problematizar desigualdades sociais e língua como espaço de poder. Essa problematização foi possível não apenas pelos textos lidos, mas também por eventos críticos que aconteceram entre alunas/os e a professora durante o curso. Esses eventos motivaram o relato de outros eventos críticos, vividos pelas/os alunas/os, que aconteceram antes do curso. Neste estudo, analisamos esse conjunto de eventos como compreendendo atos de fala ofensivos que foram atenuados e rearticulados afirmativamente, abrindo a possibilidade de agência (BUTLER, 1997).
Neste texto, que percebemos como uma <em>escrita-conversa</em>, buscamos mobilizar algumas inquietações sobre o mal-estar que permeia o Brasil recente. Considerando que Jair Bolsonaro, atual presidente da república, nunca se absteve de manifestar apreço por práticas autoritárias e violentas durante a sua carreira política, o que inclui a campanha eleitoral de 2018, o nosso principal objetivo foi esboçar uma compreensão da crise civilizatória revelada e potencializada por seu governo. Uma das perguntas que orientou o nosso diálogo foi: o que levou – e tem levado – milhares de brasileiros a legitimar esse projeto ancorado em uma <em>linguagem da destruição</em>? Ao destacarmos a <em>condição de desamparo do sujeito </em>e o <em>potencial destrutivo da linguagem</em> como questões cruciais para se compreender a performance do mal no Brasil contemporâneo, argumentamos em favor da <em>afirmação do desamparo</em> como força produtiva para uma (re)elaboração crítica da complexa e trágica realidade que vivemos.
Resumo: O meu objetivo, neste artigo, é compartilhar uma reflexão inicial sobre um grupo de performances sociodiscursivas às quais tenho me referido como masculinidades bélicas, reflexão construída a partir de um diálogo indisciplinar com diferentes áreas do saber. Tendo como base a leitura crítica de duas performances e atendo-me ao contexto sociopolítico brasileiro atual, argumento que as masculinidades bélicas se caracterizam pelo engajamento dos sujeitos em práticas necrodiscursivas que (re)produzem enquadres de guerra em diferentes espaços sociais. Desse modo, sugiro o trabalho com letramentos pós-identitários como forma de estranhar textualmente os repertórios mobilizados por masculinidades bélicas, a fim de construir sentidos, performances e enquadres que desafiem o paradigma e a retórica da guerra, no Brasil contemporâneo.
