Palabras clave: ORTODONCIA / PERIODONCIA / APARATOLOGÍA ORTODÓNCICA / HISTOLOGÍA / RADIOLOGÍA / MICROBIOLOGÍA.Effect of the orthodontic treatment in the periodontal tissues: a review ABSTRACT Orthodontic treatment can produce a very nice dentofacial aesthetic, a superior functional occlusion. However, over the years it had been reported conflicting results regarding the effect of orthodontic treatment on periodontal tissues. This literature review collects the available information about the clinical, histological, radiological and microbiological aspect of the orthodontic treatment.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
