A criança começa a desenvolver habilidades leitoras e de escrita antes do processo de alfabetização promovido pela escola. Compreender essa aprendizagem precedente e a sua evolução possibilita, entre outras coisas, identificar - na pré-escola - que habilidades são capazes de predizer o desempenho futuro. Dessa forma, através do presente ensaio propõe-se apontar algumas estratégias que pais e professores de Pré-Escola podem utilizar a fim de favorecer a aprendizagem inicial da leitura, prestando-se tais estratégias a servir de andaimes para o desempenho proficiente em leitura e escrita posterior. Para tanto se faz uma revisão da literatura pertinente ao tema, sobretudo, em neurociências e a ela se reúne a experiência docente da pesquisadora proponente do tema focalizado.

This essay highlights the relevance of sociocognitive activities of repetition and production of paraphrases for both retention and the evolution of scientific knowledge, noting that neuroscientific investigations proved that importance and necessity, given the characteristics of the individual human brain function.KEY WORDS: Repetition; Paraphrase; Knowledge production.
O presente artigo busca problematizar o trabalho com leitura nas diferentes áreas do conhecimento, confrontando a fala do professor em relação a sua prática com as percepções do aluno sobre o papel desta para a sua aprendizagem. O trabalho é resultado de uma pesquisa quantitativa com professores de todas as áreas do conhecimento de uma escola pública e uma particular do município de Venâncio Aires, e com alunos do 8º ano de ambas as escolas. Os dados apurados permitem uma reflexão sobre as prováveis causas do insucesso dos alunos nas avaliações de leitura e sinalizam a necessidade de mudanças urgentes na prática docente.
