Este trabalho objetiva problematizar sobre a ocorrência do esquecimento do povo caboclo no território conhecido como Contestado, situado entre os estados do Paraná e de Santa Catarina. Buscamos analisar os emaranhados que fizeram com que ocorresse a invisibilização deste povo que sofreu com/e na guerra ocorrida entre os anos de 1912-1916. Na mesma perspectiva, se eleva em nosso estudo um repensar das territorialidades pelas quais compreende-se que no território Contestado o povo caboclo compôs seus modos de ser e de existir, convivendo com o espaço natural; fato este que, posteriormente, com a expansão do capitalismo e em decorrência das ramificações do conflito, provoca a desestruturação deste modo de vida. Em continuidade ao estudo, e tendo como base uma revisão teórica, elencamos a existência da negação das identidades caboclas na atualidade, devido aos inúmeros fatos que desde o conflito continuam a perseguir e a criminalizar, culpabilizando os caboclos e as caboclas pelo desenrolar dos acontecimentos que levaram a ocorrência da Guerra. Concluímos, indicado que a população cabocla não é a culpada pelo estopim do conflito e pela Guerra como um todo, de modo que se faz necessário avançar nos estudos comprometidos com a produção de conhecimento que possa contribuir com a justiça social, isto é, retirar a culpa colocada aos caboclos e às caboclas, que foram vítimas de tamanha injustiça, seja de forma física, epistêmica e/ou discursiva
