O papel trinitário do Exército Brasileiro: bases de uma força "multitarefas"The Trinitarian role of the Brazilian Army: bases of a "multitasking" force Resumo: No Brasil, o Exército tem sido recorrentemente empregado pelo Governo Federal para exercer atividades que, por sua natureza, seriam tradicionalmente realizadas por outras agências do Estado. Contudo, mesmo isso sendo reconhecidamente um problema, ao desviar a Força de suas funções precípuas, não há sinais de mudanças. Por isso, o artigo objetivou discutir as peculiaridades de atuação do Exército Brasileiro (EB), destacando como as funções tradicionalmente desempenhadas pelos militares vão muito além do preparo para a guerra. Do ponto de vista metodológico, adotou-se uma perspectiva teórica baseada no conceito de cultura estratégica e nas condicionantes geopolíticas do território brasileiro, procedeu-se a uma revisão bibliográfica e realizou-se a consulta a documentos de defesa e manuais militares que ajudaram a entender o processo de construção do perfil multitarefas. Como resultado, propõe-se um modelo trinitário de atuação do EB representativo de uma cultura estratégica propriamente brasileira, que relaciona a participação do Exército ao processo de construção do Estado nacional.
