One of the largest economic sectors in Brazil is the construction industry, being an important segment for investments in the country. As a result, it is a firmly established sector which has attained a high level of competitiveness. However, given the dynamic approach necessary in a world of accelerated change, the construction industry faces a wide range of challenges which must be addressed so to maintain, and if possible, improve its competitiveness. This study aims to determine how to maximize the profit of a construction company located in Curitiba, Paraná state, applying techniques of Operations Research, an analytical method of problem-solving and decision-making. The tool used to perform the optimization was Linear Programming, a mathematical modeling technique in which a linear function is maximized or minimized when subjected to various constraints. The results show a strong possibility of increasing the company's profit by production leveling.
In recent years, with the increasing of waste, the reverse logistics become an important strategy for meeting the necessaries of the society and work market. Among the huge amount of discard products are the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), which it has become a major problem for developing countries due to its harmful effects. This paper characterizes and analyses the bibliometric review of the reverse logistics strategies applied in Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Management. The methodological approach used is the systematic review of the literature, based on bibliometric theory, through consultation with the ISI Web bases of Science and Scopus, and their treatment by Excel and Mendeley software. For research was used ``Reverse Logistics'' and ``WEEE'' as an expressions key, generating a sample of 43 articles published. At the end of the study were presented descriptive analysis results with the identification of the years, authors, research source, countries and research methods, and a bibliometric analysis results by the number of citations.
The objective of this study is to apply quality techniques with the purpose of proposing improvements for a production process of a potato chips production in a food industry in the region of Curitiba, Paraná state. Once the research universe was defined, the collection period began, characterized primarily by data collection, where it was divided into 2 periods: a first period reserved for checking the company's current performance, regarding production levels , income, compliance with goals and losses in the productive process; and a second period to verify the new performance of the plant after the implementation of the improvement plans proposed in this work, made possible by the use of the Cause and Effect Diagram, Brainstorming and 5W2H tools. With the implementation of the improvement plan, it was possible to observe an increase in the process incomes from 68.1% to 81.8% and a significant reduction in the level of losses in the production process of chips type chips.
The exploration of bubalinocultura in small farms shows itself as an important instrument of social progress, resulting in benefits for small producers and their activities, bringing an opportunity for growth and development for them. The article aims to present the proposal of a flow of processes for a company characterized as an artisan dairy, producing buffalo cheeses, using as process analysis tool the process mapping, in order to present the benefits and improvements that this tool can provide. Thus, data were collected from the production process through information transmitted through company employees and participant observation. The process mapping, through a process diagram, allowed an amplified view of the production of buffalo cheese, where it is possible to analyze the step by step of the productive activities and the respective time of completion of each of them. As a result, it is possible to draw up an improvement plan through corrections of some activities, reducing cycle time and developing more efficient and effective processes.
