The data was transcribed and tabulated in an Excel worksheet file in Windows XP professional and organized into tables. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee with number 754462, CAAE 34237914.2.0000.5040. Results: a predominance of males (57.5%) were identified, with ages ranging from 44 to 53 (29%), from the countryside (63.3%), unemployed (49.2%), with adequate housing conditions (87.5%). The indeterminate causes were the most prevalent (38.3%), "O" blood group (75.8%), with cytomegalovirus serology positive (48.3%), three to five years of dialysis (25.8 %). Conclusion: patients spend about one year in clinical preparation for a renal transplant and the difficulty for a cardiological evaluation is the main responsible for this delay.
