O Alzheimer é o tipo mais comum de demência, sendo considerado um transtorno neurodegenerativo progressivo que é caracterizado por alterações comportamentais e deterioração das funções cerebrais. Sua relação com o Diabetes se dá a partir do termo “diabetes tipo 3”, que surgiu em 2005, e caracteriza-se pelo processo inflamatório causado pelo acúmulo de toxinas cerebrais, em virtude da resistência insulínica. Em busca de um maior entendimento a respeito do tema, o objetivo desse trabalho foi demonstrar a relação entre o Diabetes Mellitus e o Alzheimer, explanando suas características comuns e a necessidade de um acompanhamento multidisciplinar. Para a realização desta pesquisa foram utilizadas diversas bases de dados online. A maioria dos estudos comprova a relação entre essas patologias, porém ainda existem controvérsias, sendo necessário estudos mais detalhados que concretizem efetivamente esta relação.
Após o surgimento do coronavírus na China em 2019, houve rápida disseminação por todos os continentes, levando a Organização Mundial da Saúde declarar uma situação de pandemia em 11 de março de 2020. Portanto, um esforço global se desenvolveu no combate à COVID-19, envolvendo a promulgação de atos administrativos em caráter emergencial como o isolamento social, fechamento de fronteiras e, mais recentemente, a implementação dos calendários vacinais. Nessa perspectiva, o município de Niterói, localizado na Região Metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro, foi escolhido como área de estudo para compreender como ocorreu a difusão espacial do Sars-CoV-2 no primeiro ano de pandemia (janeiro de 2020 a julho de 2021), com prevalência da variante gama. No que tange aos procedimentos metodológicos, foi empregado uma análise exploratória dos dados epidemiológicos: casos e óbitos na intenção de revelar padrões espaço-temporais de difusão. Primeiramente, foi aplicado o teste estatístico de Pettitt para identificar o ponto de ruptura e mudança de tendência da série de dados. Posteriormente à aplicação do teste e estabelecimento do recorte temporal, foi utilizado a estatística da Densidade de Kernel com a produção de mapas coropléticos do padrão de difusão espacial nos bairros por semanas epidemiológicas e também mapas da taxa de incidência por bairros. Como resultado foi possível entender que a difusão espacial do vírus se deu prioritariamente via eixo de estruturação viária/mobilidade da população, estabelecido pela influência da hierarquia intramunicipal, onde bairros centrais tiveram o primeiro caso e após a estabilização houve a interiorização da disseminação.
