En este artículo consideramos al conflicto como un proceso interactivo en un contexto determinado susceptible de transformación (Lederach, 2007); explica la relación entre los conflictos y la cultura de paz y enfatiza el papel de la comunicación en esa transformación, particularmente bajo la propuesta de Marshall Rosenberg respecto de la Comunicación No Violenta (CNV). En ese marco, el objetivo de la presente investigación fue explorar las reflexiones generadas en jóvenes universitarios a partir de la resolución de Escala de Estrategias Comunicativas ante Situaciones de Conflicto (ECSC). El instrumento fue resuelto por jóvenes universitarios de Yucatán, México, y sus reflexiones nos permitieron observar que sus dificultades para avanzar hacia una solución transformadora de conflictos están relacionadas con el control de sus emociones.
