El surgimiento de las tecnologías de información y comunicación, generaron cambios trascendentales en los espacios de la vida del hombre; en el caso especial de la educación, ha podido notarse su inserción progresiva, brindando elementos para optimizar la estrategia pedagógica de los responsables de facilitar aprendizajes; esto ha conducido al empleo de herramientas que permiten al estudiante un mejor aprovechamiento del proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje. Una de esas herramientas se enfoca en el aprendizaje móvil, al ofrecer al alumno, un recurso que permite el acceso al conocimiento a través de una herramienta móvil. Sin embargo, en muchos espacios educativos, sigue imperando una forma de enseñanza que cae en la monotonía, generando tedio en muchos de los estudiantes, ante docentes que insisten años tras años en los mismos modos de impartir las clases, obviando el uso de recursos tecnológicos. Lo expuesto lleva a considerar como propósito de estudio, analizar el aprendizaje móvil como herramienta innovadora en la función docente. Se ubica la investigación en el paradigma positivista, en una investigación de campo desarrollada en el Instituto Superior Tecnológico Espíritu Santo, con condición de Universitario de la ciudad de Guayaquil (TES), se aplicó un cuestionario de 14 preguntas, a 50 docentes. Se concluyó que el aprendizaje móvil como herramienta innovadora en la función docente, puede ser utilizado a través de una aplicación dentro de los dispositivos móviles al tener mayor posibilidad de acceso y con ello más facilidades para emplearlos en su actividad académica. Esta realidad, conlleva a permitirles un aprendizaje en un marco de gran accesibilidad, siendo que pueden facilitárseles el aprendizaje tanto en el interior de Instituto Superior Tecnológico Espíritu Santo, con condición de Universitario de la ciudad de Guayaquil como fuera de este.
