Premenstrual syndrome memiliki prevalensi yang cukup tinggi pada perempuan. Premenstrual syndrome dapat menimbulkan gejala baik somatik maupun afektif pada 7-10 hari sebelum datangnya menstruasi dan dapat menyebabkan gangguan pada aktivitas sehari-hari perempuan. Banyak faktor yang berhubungan dengan premenstrual syndrome dan salah satu faktor yang dikaitkan adalah status gizi obesitas. Perempuan dengan status gizi obesitas berisiko lebih tinggi mengalami premenstrual syndrome dibanding perempuan berstatus gizi normal. Studi literatur ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara obesitas dengan premenstrual syndrome. Metode pada literatur ini dengan cara pencarian artikel dalam database jurnal penelitian, pencarian melalui internet, dan tinjauan ulang artikel menggunakan Google Scholar dan PubMed. Berdasarkan review jurnal-jurnal yang didapatkan disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara obesitas dan premenstrual syndrome, yang menyebabkan meningkatnya angka kejadian premenstrual syndrome pada perempuan obesitas dibanding perempuan dengan status gizi normal. Hal ini dikarenakan ketidakseimbangan hormon yang berperan juga dalam pengendalian neurotransmitter. Produksi androstenedion meningkat pada perempuan obesitas yang menyebabkan estrogen meningkat juga, sehingga menimbulkan gejala-gejala Premenstrual syndrome. Terdapat beberapa penelitian yang bertentangan dengan korelasi antara obesitas dan premenstrual syndrome, namun, hal ini diduga karena jumlah responden yang obesitas tidak signifikan sehingga mendapatkan hasil yang berbeda.
Kelelahan kerja merupakan salah satu permasalahan kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja yang dapat menjadi faktor risiko terjadinya kecelakaan kerja. Risiko kelelahan kerja akan meningkat pada pekerja yang menjalankan sif kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara sif kerja dengan kelelahan kerja pada petugas keamanan di Universitas X. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Responden adalah petugas keamanan yang melakukan sif pagi dan sif malam. Pengukuran kelelahan kerja objektif menggunakan waktu reaksi dan subjektif dengan kuesioner alat ukur perasaan kelelahan kerja (KAUPK2). Digunakan uji statistik Kolmogorov-Smirnov untuk melihat hubungan sif kerja dengan kelelahan kerja. Didapatkan 73,33% petugas keamanan sif pagi, dan 66,67% sif malam berusia dewasa. Sebanyak 80% sif pagi dan 80% sif malam berstatus sudah menikah. Petugas sif pagi 56,67% memiliki masa kerja baru, dan 76,67% petugas keamanan sif malam memiliki masa kerja lama. Sebanyak 50% responden sif pagi, dan 56,66 sif malam dalam kategori berat badan lebih. Selama menjalankan sif kerja, 60% responden sif pagi dan 83,33% sif malam tertidur di jam bertugas. Di dapatkan nilai p > 0,05 untuk perbedaan kelelahan kerja objektif dan subjektif pada petugas keamanan sif pagi dan sif malam. Dapat disimpulkan tidak terdapat hubungan antara kelelahan kerja dengan sif kerja petugas keamanan di Universitas X.
Pada penelitian awal didapatkan diet restriksi vitamin B12 menyebabkan hiperhomosisteinemia dan resistensi insulin, yang ditandai oleh hiperglikemia dan meningkatnya nilai Homeostatic Model Assessment for Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR). Dengan menggunakan sampel jaringan biologik tersimpan, hati tikus Spraque-Dawley dari penelitian tersebut, penelitian lanjutan ini bertujuan mengetahui penyebab hiperglikemia, dalam hubungannya dengan proses glukoneogenesis, dengan melihat ekspresi forkhead box protein-O1 (FoxO1) dan gen glukosa 6 fosfatase (G6Pc). Adapun sampel terdiri dari 4 kelompok: kelompok kontrol dan tiga kelompok dengan diet restriksi vitamin B12 masing-masing selama 4, 8, dan 12 minggu. Ekspresi FoxO1 diperiksa dengan metode kuantitatif Western-Blot, sedangkan gen G6Pc diperiksa dengan metode real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (rt-PCR). Hasil yang diperoleh, tidak terdapat perbedaan bermakna ekspresi FoxO1 (P > 0,05) dan gen G6Pc (P > 0,05) antara kelompok tikus kontrol dan kelompok diet restriksi vitamin B12. Hal ini menunjukkan, hiperglikemia pada diet restriksi vitamin B12 tidak terkait dengan glukoneogenesis. Pada kondisi resistensi insulin, insulin masih dapat meneruskan efek metaboliknya melalui jalur lain, seperti melalui reseptor yang memiliki kemiripan struktur dan fungsi dengan reseptor insulin. Penyebab-penyebab lain terjadinya hiperglikemia seperti gangguan utilisasi glukosa oleh sel dan gangguan proses glikogenesis perlu diteliti lebih lanjut.
Diabetes melitus merupakan masalah kesehatan global dengan tingginya angka kematian akibat berbagai komplikasi yang ditimbulkannya dan diabetes melitus tipe 2 menjadi penyebab utama kematian seiring bertambahnya penderita obesitas. Pengembangan obat-obat anti diabetes dilakukan, untuk menemukan kandidat obat baru yang tidak hanya menurunkan kadar glukosa darah tetapi diharapkan memiliki efek lebih, seperti mampu merestorasi fungsi sekresi sel β pankreas dan mengembalikan sensitivitas reseptor insulin yang terganggu. Penulisan tinjauan pustaka ini bertujuan membahas peran hormon inkretin dalam tubuh, gastric inhibitory peptide (GIP), dan glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) dalam merangsang sekresi insulin, serta peran/efek tambahan dari hormon-hormon tersebut yang secara fisiologis menguntungkan dan sejalan dengan pengobatan diabetes melitus tipe 2, seperti merangsang proliferasi dan meningkatkan ketahanan hidup sel β, juga perannya dalam menekan nafsu makan. Beberapa obat anti diabetes berbasis hormon inkretin yang telah digunakan di klinik, di antaranya kelompok obat glucagon like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA), yang mirip dengan hormon inkretin endogen serta kelompok obat dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor (DPP4-inhibitor) yang menghambat degradasi GIP dan GLP-1
