O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar a formação docente de um curso de licenciatura em Portugal e o outro no Brasil, oferecidos por instituições públicas destes países. O corpus analisado resultou de questionários semiestruturadas aplicados a 20 licenciandos de Portugal e 16 do Brasil. A análise das respostas dos licenciandos, evidenciou que o modelo de formação docente português é desenvolvido de forma interdisciplinar. No Brasil verificou-se a existência de dois modelos, um interdisciplinar e outro tradicional. Sobre a iniciação à prática profissional, que visa preparar a integração nos contextos educativos profissionais em Portugal, os estudantes portugueses e brasileiros responderam que é realizada em escolas do ensino básico públicas e privadas. A respeito da forma como são desenvolvidas as atividades nesse momento, os estudantes de ambos os países responderam que é observacional, mas no Brasil pode incluir, já numa fase mais avançada, planejamento e execução de aulas. Em relação ao mercado de trabalho, a maioria dos graduandos relatou que ele não é tão satisfatório nos dois países. Embora haja convergências a respeito da formação recebida, de modo geral, foi possível identificar, pela análise das respostas dos graduandos, um avanço em direção ao desenvolvimento de práticas docentes, que permitiu aos futuros professores serem mais críticos e reflexivos.
Resumo: Este texto situa-se no campo das histórias de formação de professores. Busca-se a formação a partir do que os formadores entendem ser a formação para si e para o outro. Este veio analítico insere-se no campo de pesquisa (auto)biográfico crescente no país, que busca dar voz ao professor e às suas histórias formativas.
