The lacewing Chrysopa septempunctata Wesmael is an important, common predator of several insects in China, Japan, Russia, and many parts of Europe. Our field trapping experiments in northeast China showed that males of this green lacewing are strongly attracted to the lacewing pheromone of Chrysopa oculata Say, (1R,2S,5R,8R)-iridodial. The induced plant volatile, methyl salicylate, was unattractive to C. septempunctata by itself at the concentration tested, but synergistic when combined with iridodial where the lacewing population was high. (1R,4aS,7S,7aR)-Nepetalactol and (4aS,7S,7aR)-nepetalactone (aphid sex pheromone components) caught significantly more males of C. septempunctata than did blank control traps, but were inferior to iridodial dispensers, which remained strongly attractive to C. septempunctata males for at least 2.5 months. These results indicate that (1R,2S,5R,8R)-iridodial is a powerful attractant for C. septempunctata, and may have great potential for enhanced biological control of garden, agricultural, and forest insect pests.
Eight species of the genus Cryptopimpla Taschenberg, 1863 are reported from China, five of them new to science: Cryptopimpla flavipedalis Sheng, sp. n., collected from Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Cryptopimpla rufipedalis Sheng, sp. n. collected from Jilin Province, both from the Palaearctic part of China. Cryptopimpla. carinifacialis Sheng, sp. n., Cryptopimpla flavifacialis Sheng, sp. n.and Cryptopimpla maculifacialis Sheng, sp. n. were collected from Jiangxi Province in the Oriental part of China. A key to the species of Cryptopimpla known from China is provided.

Sheng & Sun, sp.n. belonging to Acaenitinae of family Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera), collected from Qinghai Province, China, are described and illustrated.
An enigmatic taxon collected in China is described as Bicurta sinica gen. n., sp. n. The unique specimen proved difficult to place to subfamily but has features in common with Collyria, until recently the sole valid genus of the small Palaearctic subfamily, Collyriinae. A morphological phylogenetic analysis of the pimpliformes group of subfamilies confirms the placement of this genus in the Collyriinae, which is here redefined.
General data on distribution and available host records are provided for the seventeen known Chinese species of Tersilochinae, distributed in fi ve genera. Four species, Diaparsis (Diaparsis) nitidulentis sp. n., Probles (Euporizon) vulnifi cus sp. n., Tersilochus (Tersilochus) ningxiator sp. n. and T. (T.) runatus sp. n., are described from Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of China. Diaparsis rara Horstmann and the subgenus Rugodiaparsis Horstmann of the genus Probles Förster are recorded from China for the fi rst time.
Dentifemura Sheng & Sun, gen. n. and Dentifemura maculata Sheng & Sun, sp. n. belonging to tribe Acaenitini of subfamily Acaenitinae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae), collected from Jiangxi Province, China, are described.
Four species of Mastrus Förster, 1869 are reported from China. Two, Mastrus nigrus Sheng & Zeng, sp. n. reared from Arge pullata (Zaddach) and Mastrus rugotergalis Sheng & Zeng, sp. n. reared from Diprion jingyuanensis Xiao & Zhang, are new to science. One, Mastrus deminuens (Hartig, 1838), is a parasitoid of Pachynematus itoi Okutani. A key to species of Mastrus Förster known in China is provided.
Four species of Rhimphoctona (Xylophylax) collected from P. R. China are reported. Two of them are new to science: Rhimphoctona (Xylophylax) maculifemoralis Luo and Sheng, sp.nov. reared from Tetropium castaneum (Linnaeus), and Rhimphoctona (Xylophylax) immaculata Luo and Sheng, sp.nov. One is a new record for China, R. (Xylophylax) rufocoxalis (Clément 1924) reared from T. castaneum (Linnaeus). The other is R. (Xylophylax) lucida (Clément 1924) reared from Monochamus saltuarius Gebier, Tetropium gabrieli Weise and Asemus sp. A key to species known in China is provided.
