Objetivo: Conhecer os sinais e sintomas do câncer infantojuvenil percebidos pelos pais dos acometidos e o tempo entre procura de um serviço de saúde e o diagnóstico da doença. Metodologia: Estudo transversal, de caráter exploratório e abordagem quantitativa, através de banco de dados cadastrais, padronizado pela AVOSOS, realizado no período de dezembro de 2019, que incluem os genitores de crianças e adolescentes, entre 0 a 19 anos, em tratamento para neoplasias malignas, assistidos pela instituição, no momento da admissão. Resultados: Participaram do estudo 719 crianças e adolescentes. A febre (40%) e a dor (38,1%) foram os sinais e sintomas mais relatados pelos genitores, seguidos por cefaleia, vômitos, astenia e tumorações. A procura pelo atendimento médico ocorreu dentro de um mês em 79,6% e diagnóstico do câncer ocorreu de 1 a 3 meses do início dos sintomas em 39,9%. A leucemia e o linfoma foram as neoplasias mais frequentes. Neuroblastoma, tumores ósseos, tumores do SNC, tumores de tecidos moles e outros sarcomas foram os maiores responsáveis pelos óbitos. Os tratamentos mais realizados pelos portadores de CIJ foram, respectivamente, a quimioterapia e os procedimentos cirúrgicos. Conclusão: A febre, uma das manifestações iniciais da leucemia, a neoplasia mais comum, é o principal sintoma que leva ao atendimento médico. A procura por um serviço médico ocorreu em até um mês da ocorrência dos sintomas e diagnóstico entre um a três meses após o início da sintomatologia, no entanto, merece preocupação a procura após um mês do primeiro sintoma em uma parcela significativa da população.
Objetivo: Avaliar perfil epidemiológico, qualidade de vida (QV) de pacientes com estomia intestinal. Metodologia: Estudo transversal e quantitativo, de janeiro à maio de 2021, com estomizados maiores de 18 anos, atendidos no Centro de Atenção à Saúde de Sergipe. Aplicou-se questionário sociodemográfico, dados sobre a estomia e avaliação da QV (Stoma–QoL – variante brasileira), sobre os domínios físico, psicológico, ambiental, relações sociais e sexuais. Utilizou-se testes Shapiro-Wilk e Mann- Whitney (p≤0,05). Resultados: Avaliou-se 100 pacientes, 54% masculino, 70% maior de 50 anos, casados, cor parda, renda média de 2573,00 reais, da 1ª à 4ª série do ensino fundamental. Destes 93% eram colostomizados e 53% de caráter definitivo, a principal causa foi câncer colorretal. Identificou-se que 58% não se sentem sexualmente atraentes e 45% se sentem ansiosos quando a bolsa enche. Os pacientes que afirmaram não sentir sintomas negativos após a estomia têm melhor QV em relação ao demais que sentiram os sintomas, 20% relatam acompanhamento psicológico e desses 75% tiveram melhora na QV. Ter apoio familiar e de amigos são bons preditores para melhor QV. Conclusão: Não houve diferença entre os sexos dos estomizados, a maioria maior de 50 anos, casados, com baixa renda e escolaridade. Predominou a colostomia de caráter definitivo pelo câncer colorretal. No geral, apresentaram boa QV, condizendo com sua autopercepção, com insatisfação na sexualidade, e questões mecânicas do estoma. O atendimento especializado, acompanhamento psicológico e participação em grupos com a mesma condição, melhora o enfrentamento e auxilia no conhecimento dos cuidados, reduzindo os impactos negativos causados na QV.
Objetivo: Avaliar características sociodemográficas e os sintomas de ansiedade/depressão em cuidadores de crianças e adolescentes com neoplasias malignas. Métodos: Estudo prospectivo, com cuidadores de pacientes de 0 a 19 anos de idade em tratamento oncológico, em um serviço de referência em saúde do câncer, em uma capital do nordeste brasileiro. O Inventário de Ansiedade/Depressão de Beck (BDI) foi aplicado para avaliar a presença e o nível de ansiedade/depressão do cuidador e o questionário Caregiver Burden Scale para analisar aspectos gerais da qualidade de vida do cuidador. Resultados: Participaram do estudo 45 cuidadores, com predominância da mãe como cuidadora (91,1%), idade média de 34 anos e renda familiar abaixo de um salário mínimo. A maioria apresentava sintomas graves de ansiedade e os sinais de depressão eram mínimos, apresentando Nível de Estresse Grau I com baixo risco de sintomas físicos e psicológicos. Não houve associação entre os níveis de ansiedade e a escala de sobrecarga do cuidador (p = 0,163). Por outro lado, há uma correlação entre depressão e sobrecarga do cuidador (p<0,001). Conclusão: Observou-se cuidadores com sinais e sintomas graves de ansiedade, de depressão leve, com baixo estresse e sem risco de sintomas físicos e psicossomáticos.
Objetivo: Identificar a prevalência de transtornos mentais comuns em profissionais de enfermagem no estado de Sergipe, durante a pandemia de COVID-19. Método: Trata-se de um estudo transversal, de abordagem quantitativa, realizado entre abril de 2021 a março de 2022, utilizando um questionário sociodemográfico e um instrumento específico para rastreamento de transtornos mentais não psicóticos: o Self Report Questionnaire (SRQ-20). A análise foi realizada por meio de estatística descritiva, e a hipótese de independência entre variáveis categóricas por meio dos testes Exato de Fisher (2x2), Qui-Quadrado de Pearson. Resultados: A maioria era enfermeiras, entre 26 e 35 anos, com tempo médio profissional de cinco anos. Em relação a aplicação do SRQ-20, aproximadamente metade dos profissionais apresentaram indícios de transtorno mental comum (43,5%), com associação estatística aos fatores sociodemográficos, familiares e profissionais. Conclusão: Identificou-se que em Sergipe, aproximadamente metade dos profissionais de enfermagem avaliados apresentaram transtorno mental, durante o enfrentamento da COVID-19.
