We describe the design and development of wireless electrocardiogram monitoring system to meet the biomedical needs. Our system is able to acquire, display and record the patient's real time electrocardiogram (ECG) data. Patient data received from this system can be further used for analysis of abnormal heart rate and new clinical applications. System hardware comprises of an electrode as part of signal input, signal conditioning components for manipulating signal, the 8051 microcontroller unit to perform signal processing and wireless communication module. Software was developed in Visual Basic 6 to record and visualise ECG signal in real time. Therefore, we implemented ECG monitor system, and this can be used to advanced ECG study.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
