The primary purpose of this study was to determine the level of health awareness among university students in Jordan. The sample of the study consisted of (860) male and female students from different colleges at the Hashemite University during the second semester of the academic year 2012/2013, who were exposed to the health awareness scale. To analyze the gathered data, means, standard deviations, t-test and one-way ANOVA were calculated. Additionally, results indicated that the degree of health awareness for the Hashemite University students was low, and that there were statistically significant differences for the level of health awareness for the Hashemite University students ascribed to the variables of gender, specialization, and academic level and GPA
This study aims to determine the critical thinking skills of Islamic education's teachers in Jordan and to determine the impact of gender, experience and scientific qualifications on the critical thinking skills of teachers. The Sample of the study consists of 112 Islamic Education's teachers who responded to a valid and reliable questionnaire consists of 24 items with three substitutes. The results of the study shows that teacher's level of critical thinking skills are high and there are no significant differences related to gender variable, but there are significant differences related to experience and scientific qualifications variables. The researchers' recommendations for the field of the study may prove useful in enhancing critical thinking skills.
This study aimed at identifying the training needs of governmental schools' principals with kindergarten classes. The sample of the study consisted of a random sample of (62) female principal. The instrument of the study was developed by the researchers and included 60 items distributed on four domains (planning, organizing, guidance, and assessment). The results of this study indicated that governmental school principals needed training in the areas of planning, organization, guidance and assessment. The results also indicated that academic qualification and years of experience did not have any statistically significant effect on domains of the study. The study provided a number of recommendations such as designing training courses for governmental schools' principals, increasing the number of training courses and programs.
This study aimed at identifying the difficulties that encounter the practical education students in the Hashemite University and Al-Isra Private University. The sample of the study consisted of (133) male and female students. They were (73) students from the Hashemite University, and (60) from Al-Isra Private University who registered the first term in 2007/2008. A questionnaire was developed. It was composed of (26) items and divided into five domains: cooperative school, practical education programme, student- teacher, cooperative teacher and the academic supervisor. The results of the study showed that the most important difficulties that encountered the student teacher were as follow: the classrooms were crowded, the load of tasks on the student-teacher during the implementation of the practical education programme, and the cooperative schools were far from the student-teacher residence. The results also revealed that there were statistical significant differences between the means of the difficulties due to the type of the university and was attributed to the private ones. It also showed that there were no statistical significant differences between the means of the difficulties attributed to the gender and specialty. هدفت هذه الدراسة التعرف الى الصعوبات التي يواجهها طلبة التربية العملية في الجامعة الهاشمية وجامعة الإسراء الخاصة وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (133) طالبا وطالبة موزعين على : (73) طالبا وطالبة في الجامعة الهاشمية، و(60) طالبا وطالبة في جامعة الإسراء الخاصة من الفصل التدريسي الأول 2007/2008. ولغايات تحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم تطوير استبانة اشتملت على (26)صعوبة موزعة على خمسة مجالات: المدرسة المتعاونة، وبرنامج التربية العملية، والطالب المعلم، والمعلم المتعاون، والمشرف الأكاديمي. وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن أهم الصعوبات التي تواجه الطلبة المعلمين هي على الترتيب: ازدحام الصفوف الدراسية، زيادة العبء الدراسي للطالب المعلم في أثناء تنفيذ برنامج التربية العملية. ُبعد المدارس المتعاونة عن مناطق سكن الطلبة المعلمين . كما أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطات صعوبات التربية العملية تعزى لنوع الجامعة ولصالح الجامعات الخاصة، كما أظهرت عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطات صعوبات التربية العملية تعزى إلى الجنس والتخصص.
