Les tendances récentes de la didactique des langues étrangères accordent une place importante à la nouvelle forme d’évaluation du processus d’apprentissage : le portfolio des langues. Le portfolio nous permet en effet un meilleur contrôle de ce processus pendant plusieurs années d’apprentissage des langues, il développe des attitudes plus réflexives de la part des élèves et les motive à la découverte de différentes langues et cultures. Cet article présente une réflexion autour du projet pilote mené en Pologne dans les années 2003-2005 et qui avait pour objectif la construction d’un modèle polonais de Portfolio Européen des Langues pour les enfants de 6 à 10 ans. Il résume les travaux du groupe de travail constitué de spécialistes de l’enseignement des langues aux enfants, reflète ses réflexions sur le rôle de l’autoévaluation en langues chez les jeunes apprenants et retrace l’expérimentation contrôlée du Portfolio européen des langues dans le quotidien d’une classe de l’école primaire.
