RESUMOApresente pesquisa antropológica tem por objetivo o processo de revelação do diagnóstico de HIV/Aids para crianças eadolescentes infectados via transmissão vertical, que freqüentam oServiço de Atendimento Especializado (SAE) em uma umidade básica de saúde na Vila dos Comerciários na cidade de Porto Alegre (RS). Com este intuito, analisa-se as diferentes questões implicadas na revelação do diagnóstico, bem como a perspectiva dos principais atores sociais envolvidos: familiares, equipe de saúde e a criança ou adolescente, buscando apreender quais as razões que corroboram para a não revelação e os elementos que influenciam na revelação, assim como os aspectos subjetivos esimbólicos evidenciados edetetminantes para osucesso ou não da revelação do diagnóstico.Palavras-chave : revelação do diagnóstico -transmissão vertical -crianças e adolescentes HIV positivos ABSTRACTThe present antropological research has for objective the process of revelation of the diagnosis of HIV/Aids for infected children and adolescents, course vertical transmission, that frequents the Service of Especialized Attendiment (SAE) in a basic humidity of health in the Village of the Commercial employees in the city of Porto Alegre (RS) . With this intention, one analyzes the different questions implied in the revelation of the diagnosis, as well as the perspective of the main involved social actors: familiat; health team and the child or adolescent, searching to apprehend which the reasons that they corroborate for not the revelation and the elements that theyinfluence in the revelation, as well as evidenced the subjective and symbolic aspects and determinative for the success 01' not of the revelation of the diagnosis.
