Cervical cancer is the most common neoplasm among women worldwide (1). It is estimated that 529,800 new cases worldwide are diagnosed with cervical cancer every year. The disease incidence is not common in the Western world (2). There are more than 85% of the cases in developing countries (3). It is estimated that the incidence rate of cervical cancer in Iran is 2.5 per 100,000 (4). According to a recent study, mortality rate of cervical cancer was 42% among these patients in Iran (4). If cervical cancer is detected in an early stage, it can be treated, while, advanced stage of cervical cancer is associated with poor prognosis and a lower survival rate (5-7).
