In this article, the exponentiated discrete Lindley distribution is presented and studied. Some important distributional properties are discussed. Using the maximum likelihood method, estimation of the model parameters is investigated. Furthermore, simulation study is performed to observe the performance of the estimates. Finally, the model with two real data sets is examined.
The stochastic (2+1)-dimensional breaking soliton equation (SBSE) is considered in this article, which is forced by the Wiener process. To attain the analytical stochastic solutions such as the polynomials, hyperbolic and trigonometric functions of the SBSE, we use the tanh–coth method. The results provided here extended earlier results. In addition, we utilize Matlab tools to plot 2D and 3D graphs of analytical stochastic solutions derived here to show the effect of the Wiener process on the solutions of the breaking soliton equation.
Alizadeh et al. introduced a flexible family of distributions, in the so-called Gompertz-G family. In this article, a discrete analogue of the Gompertz-G family is proposed. We also study some of its distributional properties and reliability characteristics. After introducing the general class, three special models of the new family are discussed in detail. The maximum likelihood method is used for estimating the family parameters. A simulation study is carried out to assess the performance of the family parameters. Finally, the flexibility of the new family is illustrated by means of four genuine datasets, and it is found that the proposed model provides a better fit than the competitive distributions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
