The involvement of different localizations formerly known as atypical is now commonly encountered. Intravenous contrast administration may be of use to demonstrate focal enhancement and exclude other diseases in the differential. DWI is essential to distinguish the type of edema. Repeat imaging including DWI should be performed to follow the response to therapy.
The increasing diversity of consumers' demand, as documented by the debate on the long tail of the distribution of sales volume across products, represents a challenge for retail stores. Recommender systems offer a tool to cope with this challenge. The recent developments in information technology and ubiquitous computing makes it feasible to move recommender systems from the on-line commerce, where they are widely used, to retail stores. In this paper, we aim to bridge the management literature and the computer science literature by analysing a number of issues that arise when applying recommender systems to retail stores: these range from the format of the stores that would benefit most from recommender systems to the impact of coverage and control of recommender systems on customer loyalty and competition among retail stores.
Hippocampal abnormalities are found in 55.8% of all patients with different kinds of congenital brain malformations that are mostly associated with cortical dysplasia, lissencephaly, and total agenesis of the corpus callosum. The severity of the injury may have an effect on the extent of the involvement of the brain.
A woman aged 51 years was referred to our endocrinology outpatient clinic because of excessive hair growth for seven years. The Ferriman-Gallwey hirsutism score was 36. No abdominal palpable masses were found. Mild clitoromegaly was observed in the pelvic examination. Her hormonal evaluation revealed total testosterone (T) of 761.15 ng/dL (14.2-73.1 ng/dL), dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-SO4) of 160 µg/dL (35-430 µg/dL), 17-hydroxiprogesteron of 3.49 ng/mL, follicle-stimulating hormone of 1.1 IU/L (23.9-119.1 IU/L), luteinizing hormone of 0.2 IU/L (16.3-54.8 IU/L), and estradiol of 56 pg/mL (14.4-44.5 pg/mL). After a 1 mg dose of dexamethasone at night, plasma cortisol levels returned to a normal level of 0.7 mg/dL. A transvaginal ultrasound (US) examination showed uterine fibroid with normal ovaries. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the abdomen and pelvis revealed that all other organs including the adrenal gland and ovaries were normal (Figure 1, 2).
Urethral injuries are primarily suggested in patients who are presented at the emergency service with straddle trauma. In addition, perineal vascular injuries are rarely observed in such traumas. In the literature, perineal, vascular injuries have been reported with high-flow priapism in many cases. We will present a treatment for a pure pudendal artery that disturbs hemodynamics. This technique is based on endovascular technique with minimal invasion in pediatric male patients who have followed a fall accompanied neither with urethral injury nor with priapism and those who could not have been controlled with conservative treatment but have a massive hemorrhage, which cannot be controlled with conservative treatment.
SUMMARYA 54-year-old man was admitted with complaints due to varicoseveins. Constrictive pericarditis was found as the etiology of venous insufficiency. He was treated successfully with surgery. It should be remembered that patients with constrictive patients may rarely present with venous insufficiency symptoms.
Acute leg ischemia is a clinical condition that can result in loss of the extremity or death. Depending on the clinical picture, patients with acute leg ischemia can be treated with emergent surgical revascularizaton or catheter-directed thrombolysis. This paper presents a case of acute leg ischemia treated with catheter-directed thrombolysis.
