Die Znckungen.Von allen den wichtigen und Interesse erregenden Fragen, welche mit diesem Gegenstande in Zusammenhang stehen, kann ich hier nur auf einige wenige, welche mir vorzugsmeise bedeutungsvoll und lehrreich erschienen sind, eingehen. Eine einleitende Litteraturtibersicht, so verlockend sie auch sein moge, muss ich aus mehreren Qriinden fortlassen.Die erste Frage, melche ich zur Beantwortung aufstellen mochte, ist diese: Wie wirkt die Ausgangslange des Muskels auf die Zusammenziehung? M. v. F r e y hat gefunden, dass der unbelastete Muskel bei einfacher maximaler Reizung sich zu derselben Liinge zusammenzieht, als wenn er tetanisirt wird, und A. Fick hat dieses Verhalten, wenn auch nicht fiir alle Fiille, constatirt. Meiner Erfahrung nach treten die Ausnahmen dann ein, wenn der Nuskel vor der Reizung so weit gedehnt war, dass dessen ,,Ausgangsliinge" nicht die der Spannung entsprechende kiirxeste ist. Wenn ein kriiftiger Muskel nach einer oder mehreren Zuckungen diese kiirzeste Form angenommen hat, so folgt er auch der Ton M. v. F r e y aufgestellten Regel. J. v. Kries hat gezeigt, dass ein belasteter Muskel bei einfacher Reizung den Hiihepunkt des Myogramms um so hoher treibf, je mehr die Last unterstiitzt war (Ueberlastungsmethode), und nach v.
