O presente artigo, situado no ponto de vista de articulação teórico-metodológica da Análise de Discurso com a História das ideias Linguísticas, tem como foco discutir a Língua Brasileira de Sinais (Libras) como língua de divulgação científica. Esta é uma discussão que inclui um posicionamento político frente às possibilidades da Libras de atuar no processo que traduz/interpreta/coloca em circulação conhecimento produzido. Para tanto, tomamos como objeto de discussão uma enciclopédia virtual que objetiva colocar o conhecimento produzido pela Análise de Discurso na forma de videoverbetes falados em português brasileiro com a interpretação para língua de sinais. A necessidade (mais que isso é uma injunção histórica) e a dificuldade de se pensar a construção de um sinalário em Libras é a mesma para qualquer domínio teórico escolhido, considerando a história de seus conceitos. E esta é uma questão política, uma questão de política de línguas.
