This report describes a monostatic solar system performance conducted by the Radio Research Laboratories in Tokyo. Discussions are extended to the samples of observed records and to the results obtained from one-year continuous observations. It became clear that small-scale ordered motions play an important role in the structure of atmospheric temperature fluctuations in the planetary boundary layer.the scattering cross section * as a function of scatter angle * as follows :
Transparent and continuous organosiloxane films with macroscopically oriented mesostructures were prepared by dip-coating a substrate, on which a rubbing-treated polyimide film is formed, with hydrolyzed solutions of oligosiloxane precursors (C(n)H(2n+1)Si(OSi(OMe)(3))(3)). The structure of the films depends on the alkyl chain length of the precursors such that films with two-dimensional (2D) hexagonal and lamellar structures are obtained when n = 10 and 16, respectively. In the 2D hexagonal film, the cylindrical organic moieties are aligned perpendicular to the rubbing direction in the plane of the film over the whole film thickness. On the other hand, the lamellar film changes its orientation with increased distance from the substrate surface. While the orientation of the lamellae at the surface of the film is parallel to the film-air interface, they are perpendicularly aligned in the vicinity of the substrate with the layer normal parallel to the rubbing direction. The observed unique orientation of the mesostructures is attributed to the anisotropic hydrophobic interactions between the alkyl chains of the hydrolyzed oligosiloxane molecules and the polymer chains of the polyimide layer oriented by the rubbing treatment.
A phase difference image using phase-shifting digital holography, which is applied for non-contact shape measurement, contains speckle noises and filtering to reduce them is inevitable for its application. We have developed a new filter which causes less deformation than commonly used filters.
The distribution of the atmospheric refractive index was observed repeatedly at elevations up to 3 Km over the course between Tokyo and Sendai. UHF propagation experiment was also conducted over the 310 Km land-path between Tokyo and Sendai. Considering the effect of mountain wave which was caused by the gently sloped mountain ridge near the midpoint of the course, meteorological interpretation was made on both the observed Nprofiles and the spatial distribution of *N2. The influence of the airflow across a mountain ridge on the variation of the UHF transmission loss, L, was also investigated by the use of the upper meteorological data. Correlation between the observed hourly median values of L and the relative values of the scattering cross section, a, estimated by the upper meteorological data is fairly good.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
