ChemInform Abstract The tridentate macrocycles (III) are prepared as shown. The 1:1 molar reactions of these cyclic ligands and its known linear analogue (IV) with corresponding Cu(II) salts or PdCl2•2 H2O result in the formation of the pentacoordinate square pyramidal complexes (V) ((Va): space group P2/a, Z = 8; (Vd) (X: Cl): I2/c, Z = 8), (VI), and (VII) (yields 35-65%). The different reactivity of the macrocyclic ligand (IIIa) with respect to that of (IV) is discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
