RESUMO -Os nanocompósitos formados pela adição de nanotubos de carbono em matriz polimérica têm atraído à atenção da comunidade científica principalmente devido à capacidade destas nanopartículas modificarem de forma significativa as propriedades elétricas e mecânicas do polímero matriz, mesmo em pequenos teores de adição. O desafio na obtenção de nanocompósito polimérico de alto desempenho está na dispersão adequada dos nanotubos de carbono ao longo da matriz polimérica, o que requer o emprego de um método de obtenção apropriado. Nesse trabalho foram obtidos nanocompósitos com teores entre 0,4 e 4,5 %m de nanotubos de carbono de paredes múltiplas, empregando o processo de compactação à quente com o objetivo de estudar o método de obtenção em comparação a outros métodos já utilizados pelo grupo de pesquisa. As propriedades térmicas mantiveram-se inalteradas em relação ao PVC sem carga, entretanto, a resistividade elétrica dos nanocompósitos apresentou redução de até 12 ordens de grandeza.Palavras-Chave: Nanocompósitos; Nanotubos de carbono; PVC; Resistividade elétrica.Área temática: Engenharia de Materiais e Nanotecnologia
