Rotavirus is the principal cause of severe diarrhoea, with approximately 95% of children experiencing rotavirus gastroenteritis by 5 years of age. Therefore, a study on the prevalence of rotavirus infection in children aged 0 Nigeria where there is little or no information. diarrhoeic and 78 non-diarrhoeic were collected from children aged 0 rotavirus antigen using ELISA. The so children were noted with the aid of a questionnaire. Rotavirus antigen was detected in 5.3% of the diarrhoiec specimens and none in the non were more vulnerable to rotavirus infection, months of age. There was a significant association between dehydration (P=0.02), source of drinking water (P=0.03) and rotavirus infection.
