São apresentados, neste trabalho, alguns dos métodos mais utilizados para cálculo da probabilidade de bloqueio e suas limitações. É deduzida ainda uma fórmula para cálculo da probabilidade de bloqueio no Sistema TRÓPICO. IntroduçãoEm uma central telefônica, a matriz de comutação é responsável pelo estabelecimento de um caminho de conexão entre o terminal chamador e o terminal chamado, a fim de que os dois possam manter uma conversação.Não seria econômico prover uma matriz de comutação com tantos caminhos de voz quantos fossem necessários para a interligação de todos os pares de terminais. Assim, os sistemas de comutação existentes contam com um certo número de cam inhos que são compartilhados por vários assinantes. Deste modo, existe a possibilidade de uma chamada ser rejeitada (não se completar) por falta de caminho livre até um terminal chamado que esteja desocupado. Este fenômeno é chamado bloqueio. o bloqueio em matrizes de comutação degrada o serviço oferecido ao assinante e por isso deve situar-se dentro de lim ites toleráveis. O serviço oferecido pelas matrizes de comutação é geralmente avaliado por intermédio da probabilidade de bloqueio ponto a ponto, considerando a primeira tentativa de comutação de uma chamada. Dado um terminal de entrada e um terminal de saída, ambos livres, há bloqueio ponto a ponto quando estes dois terminais não conseguem comunicar-se.
