The sorption of tetracycline on natural zeolite is studied: the optimum process conditions, distri bution coefficient, and sorption capacity were determined. A method for determining this antibiotic in milk and dairy products is proposed, based on the preliminary sorption concentration of tetracycline on zeolite followed by analyte determination by HPLC with UV detection. The advantages of this procedure are the low cost [ARC1]of analysis, and the simplicity and rapidity of execution. The procedure can be used in the prac tice of laboratories performing chemical analysis of foodstuffs.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
