Egyptian clover leaves were most consumed for Monacha obstracta (27g./ 10 individuals/ 5 days) followed by peganums, hibiscus and date palm11,11 and 10g./ 10 individuals/ 5 days respectively, while did not approach the sansevieria leaves. Peganums leaves were most consumed for both Eopania vermiculata and Thepa pisana 63 and 54 g./ 10 individuals/ 5 days respectively. Sansevieria and date palm leaves were less than the two previous ornamental plants. M. obstracta preferred Egyptian clover leaves followed by plant leaves, while T. pisana and E. vermiculata preferred the peganums and hisbicus. wheat bran and crushed bread were most attractive for all species wheat bran snails than other foods.
This study was carried out to determine the frequency of occurrence and the presence of true spider associated with banana, citrus, grape and guava fruit trees. This study was conducted at El-Menshah and Tahta districts at sohag governorate, Egypt during two successive years 2018/2019 and 2019/2020. A total of specimens belonging to 75 species, 48 genera and 32 families were collected. The most dominant family with the largest number of species were Lycosidae, Philodromidae, Theridiidae, Cheiracanthiidae, Salticidae, Gnaphosidae and Thomisidae. While, the families Titanoecidae, Dictynidae, Scytodidae, Hersiliidae, Sparassidae, Corinnidae, Oonopidae, Eresidae, Liocranidae, Pisauridae, Agelenidae and Tetragnathidae including few species. As spiders are potential biological control agents of fruit orchard's pests, so any practice that may disrupt this group should be avoided by the farmers.
This study was conducted to rear the spider Latrodectus geometricus Koch, 1841 (Theridiidae) when fed on different prey under laboratory conditions. The biological aspects including, 1-mating, 2-oviposition, 3development, 4-adult longevity 5-lifecycle, 6-moulting, and 7-predation efficiency were carried out. Male and female pass through four and eight immature stages (spiderlings) respectively before reaching adult stage with the life cycle averaged 91.15 & 198.57 days respectively at 25 o C. and relative humidity of 70-80 %. Obtained data also showed that the first and second spiderling consumed the largest number of red spider (Tetranychus urticae), both to sexes spiders, while the third and fourth spiderling fed on the Drosophila melanogaster. From fifth spiderlings two adult; the individuals fed on the different stage from larvae Spodopetra lettrolaris for males and females. However, the longevity periods of the spider lasted 25.4. and 171 39.71 days for male and female.
