The process of electron-positron pair production by two photons in a strong magnetic field has been studied. The process kinematics is considered, and the probability amplitude for arbitrary polarizations of particles is found. The resonance conditions are established, and the resonant cross-section is estimated in the case where the electron and the positron occupy the lowest levels (le = 1, lp = 0) that satisfy these resonance conditions. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
