ABSTRACTThe permo-triasic basin of Tahanaout reflects a tectono-sedimentary organization typical of synrift basins. The genetic modes of its replenishment, reviewed in light of the sedimentary heterogeneity and the position of the sediments reveal an evolution in 3 episodes: individualization, differentiation and homogenization. The tectonics expresses itself every time, by a reorganization of the deposit areas, a dissymmetry of the syntectonic gutters and structures in the tilled blocks, within a NS extensional regime (episode 1) and NW-SE even (episode 11 and I1I). The intermediate sequences follow each other in sequences of deposit that reflect and evolve in fluvio-deltaic environments, since the cone toward the alluvial or deltaic plain according to a topographic gradient. The sedimentary model suggests the existance basins in vertical relays in severallateral progradation phases interrupted by phases of silt-clay sedimentary aggradations. The generalized semi-arid climate and the closed country environment plays an important role in the configuration of this type of basins, whose borders are essentially clastics, of an extended alluvial plain.
ABSTRACTThe Triassic-Jurassic basins of the High Moulouya area record the evolution of the Atlasic rifting in the SW-NE direction, showing a syntectonic continental sedimentation and an active volcanism. Such mobility has led to the differentiation of asymmetric half basins, whose gradual subsidence took place in successive stages. These basins, particularly during the deposition of the terrigenous successions of the
ABSTRACTThe region of Ouled Abbou is characterized by the intercalation of carbonated beds in Silurian-Devonian pelite-sandstones. The series is organized into a succesion of three deposition sequences: SD1, SD2, SD3 of Silurian-Lochkovian, Praguian and Emsian age, respectively, developed in a monoclynal platform-type ramp. The hydrodynamics, in relation to variations in sea level, controlled the formation and distribution of the carbonated facies (bioclastic deposits, slope deposits, etc.).In the carbonate beds, diagenetic analysis reveals the sequence of development of the diagenetic transformations: It is essentially the result of multiple phases of cementing and recrystallization, mainly affecting the granular facies that define the diagenetic history leading to an almost complete lithification, hence their low potential as a possible reservoir. Early dolomitisation appears at the summit of sequences SD2 and SD3, leading to the formation of a crystalline rock (dolomicrosparite) followed by a remplacement-recristallisation of calcareous mud. These transformations are later affected by compaction, cracking and tectonic phases of late dolomitisation.
Carbonate diagenetic events, markers of the geodynamical evolution in the Middle Atlas (Morocco). The carbonate episodes dated from Lias to Paleogene in the Middle Atlas and the High Moulouya areas, have recorded many diagenetic events of which the main markers are grouped in two categories that are significant to the geodynamical evolution of these regions. Then, the sedimento-diagenectic markers represented by earlies cementation and dolomitiza-tion, characterize the eogenectic domain, reflect the sedimentological and paleogeographical dynamic environnements and correspond to the period of stability dated from Lower and Middle Lias. The dynamo-diagenetic markers of mesogenetic and telogenetic domains, materialized by a compaction, a later dolomitization, a tectonic fissuration which is associated with a later cementation and a meteoric dissolution, reflect the geodynamic of these sectors : during the Toarcian and Dogger, the period of filling (burial of liasic carbonate deposits), is expressed by the lithostatic compaction and the burial dolomite ; the intracontinental stage of the atlasic chain is the result of the atlasic compression since Cretaceous, it is materialized by tectonic fissuration and later dolomitization ; finally, the formation of the continental chain with the exhumation of former buried deposits, lead to their partial dissolution by meteoric waters.
