In the design of active pneumatic components for control puposes, a construction is required which is as simple as possible. For this reason one is not contented with the remedy of fluid friction or the implementation of negative feedback for the stabilization of self-excited systems, but one is looking for stabilization means which are easier to implement. Here sometimes practical methods are successful which are not easily intelligible from theory. The present paper deals with a method where a theoretical approach is possible if the behavior of the air is sufficiently considered. In this paper the theory for the stability behavior of a simple 1:1 diaphragm-transducer is dealt with. Essential for stability is the property of the air which can be modeled by a partial differential equation. The stabilizing influence of the air is equivalent to the influence of force-or friction coupling.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
