Islamic educational institutions are expected to produce human resources who is faithful and devoted to have insight into the science and technology. To achieve these expectations,of course Islamic educational institutions should revitalize the role of educational institutions to be able to play an optimal role in realizingacademic excellence for education, for industrial relevance, for contribution for new knowledge, and for empowerment.Recognizing the importance of the process of improving the quality of human resources, government, managers of educational institutions, educators and learners strive to accomplish the purpose, vision and mission through a variety of activities to build better quality education through the development and improvement of curriculum and evaluation system, improvement of facilities education, development and procurement of teaching materials, and training for teachers and education personnel.
Along with the development of communication technology, and information system, more and more also made the attendance system, and academic information. The development of a more modern absentee system with respect to the honesty side needs to be built as a substitute for manual absence using paper. Attendance system is at once can be a new standard on attendance system in Education environment. The choice of fingerprint attendance system based on communication technology in the form of SMS is because it is more practical, cheap, and efficient to convey information. Parents do not have to bother anymore come to school just to know the presence or absence of his son / daughter. In the implementation of this application, in the early stages of the user must register their identity by using the application program absenteeism built with PHP programming language, to further stored the absence data into the database My SQL which has integrated SMS Gateway through the SMS sending software that is Gammu. In addition with SMS Gateway technology, parents will be easier to obtain information on the presence of his son / daughter. From the student side, it is hoped that it will foster discipline attitude in time because indirectly this application will grow the mental attitude on time to the students, and it is expected that this application can fix any deficiencies in attendance application that has been implemented earlier.
The engaged scholarship has been widely viewed as academic service-learning and community service, which aim to link the classroom and community through courses with a transformative experiential education. It becomes an initiative to inculcate civic responsibility among students with the goal to produce responsible citizens and active participants in the community. This chapter will critically explore the main contribution of service learning to build civic responsibility. The literature review was conducted from referred books and journals on the topic of civic responsibility and service learning. As a core guideline to give a clear understanding and insightful view on the importance of the civic responsibility, this study could contribute to the significant insights towards different aspects of engaged scholarship and civic responsibility. Putting together awareness and goodwill from the community towards the group or organization should do with building civic engagement to get involved in social events to produce responsible citizens and active participants in the community.
Since every deed is an inextricable link to the process which is well prepared with a goal, possessing the initiative of implementing the learning needs to have a good strategy committed into the clear determination in enabling the stakeholder to deal with in the school context. This chapter aims to critically explore learning ethics culture in Islamic education which needs to pay attention to the learning goal. A critical review from referred books and journals that are linked to the topic was employed through searching for google scholar. The finding reveals that learning ethics culture for learning achievement in Islamic education could be indicated into three core paths: achieving divine engagement-based spiritual commitment, assisting skill performance for personal capability development, and applying knowledge for active involvement in the society. This chapter is expected to enrich the conceptual framework of learning acquisition with paying particular attention to learning ethics culture.
