ChemInform Abstract Reactions of PdBr2 with the xanthine derivatives L1 and L2 in aqueous HBr lead to xanthinium bromopalladates of the types (I) and (II). These salts are found to be strongly acidic and to dissociate into the neutral ligands in DMSO. The structure of the trimethylxanthinium salt (IIb) (space group P21/c, Z=4) is determined and discussed (no yields given).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
