Study of the PETN Initiation Conditions by Ultra Fast Raman SpectrometryUltra fast Raman spectrometry allows to study the very short phenomena which lead to the generation of detonation in secondary explosives. According to an earlier theoretical study on nitrated explosives the decomposition reaction excited by shock begins at the R-NOZ bond. We verified experimentally two conclusions of this theoretical study: the phase change under shock of PETN and modifications under shock of electronic structure involving one of the 0-NOz bond.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
