The results of our study suggest that liver (18)F-FDG uptake is variable in patients with HL during the CHT treatment and the disease course and should be considered carefully when used to define the response to therapy in the interim PET in HL.
The SR calculation did not provide additional data to the SS, which remains the elastosonography benchmark. It will be necessary to validate these preliminary data by larger prospective randomised trials.
In our small series of patients, early and delayed SUVmax showed comparable accuracies, whereas morphological and contrast enhanced CT evaluations showed the lowest accuracies. Dual-time-point SUVmax showed the largest AUC. However, dual-time-point SUVmax was most sensitive, whereas single-time-point SUVmax was most specific.
This is the first report regarding the use of sonoelastography in psoriatic patients. Sonoelastography is easy to use, rapid, and is a portable technique that does not use ionizing radiation. The result showed the mean lesional strain ratio significantly higher than the nonlesional one at baseline examination. In the future, the role of ultrasound sonoelastography is likely to be complementary to conventional imaging techniques in providing an additional tool.
Nonmedical costs heavily affect patients' finances as well as having an indirect impact on national health expenditure. Our results show that PET-CT performed with standard dose CECT in a single session provides benefits in terms of both medical and nonmedical costs.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
