Solid solution in titanates has been studied by X-ray diffraction, with particular emphasis on barium, calcium, and strontium titanates. It was found that the lattice constants varied linearly with the atomic percentage of the solute, with a positive deviation for the calcium-strontium solutions, and the two ternary solutions, with a deviation varying from negative to positive for the strontium-barium solutions. In the barium-calcium solution, the lattice constants varied linearly within the limits of solubility.
A description of the EBR-II shield and the methods employed in arriving at the final design are presented. The major shield design problems for that reactor are enumerated and discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
