Bei der Hydroformylierung von Acrylnitril (I) mit Synthesegas in Methanol unter Druck mit Kobaltcarbonylverbindungen als Katalysatoren entstehen als Hauptprodukte β‐Cyanpropionaldehyd (II) und sein Dimethylacetal (III).
Durch Zusatz von Pyridin zum Reaktionsgemisch lassen sich sowohl die Geschwindigkeit als auch die Selektivität der Bildung von Buttersäuremethylester (II) aus .Propylen (I), Methanol (Molverhältnis optimal wie 1:5) und CO (300 at) in Gegenwart von HCo(CO)4 in Toluol bei 150‐180°C erhöhen.
Es wird über die Herstellbarkeit von essentiellen Aminosäuren aus Oxosynthese‐Aldehyden, Isobutyraldehyd (Ia), Isovalerianaldehyd (Ib) und β‐Cyanpropionaldehyd (IV) durch Strecker‐Synthese und Hydrolyse bzw. über das Hydantoin (V), Hydrierung und Hydrolyse berichtet.
Die Kondensation von n‐Butyraldehyd (I), wie er aus Hydroformylierungsprodukten des Propylens erhalten wird, über Kobaltnaphthenat wird in einer Labor‐Füllkörperkolonne untersucht.
